The Draft Recommendation on the Promotion and Use of Multilingualism
and Universal Access to Cyberspace
The Draft Recommendation of the 30th Session of the General Conference, Paris,
1999 calls for measures fostering universal access to digital resources
and services for all countries and communities while promoting the preservation
of cultural and language diversity.
UNESCO's Member States invited the Organization to prepare this Recommendation
in 1997 and in November 2001 recommended further consultations on the
text before being submitted for approval to the 32nd Session of UNESCO's
General Conference in October 2003.
