Dr. Evgeni Kritski,
(Krasnodar) was born in 1958. Dr. Kritski graduated from the History Department of the Vologda Pedagogical Institute and got his Ph.D. in History from Leningrad Pedagogical Institute.
Position : head of the Northern Caucasian Institute of Socio-Political Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Dr. Larisa Khoperskaya,
(Rostov-on-the-Don) was born in 1958. In 1980 Dr. Khoperskaya graduated from the Department of Philosophy of the Rostov State University, and in 1987 successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis entitled "Actualization in the System of Cultural Continuity" at the same university. Until 1988, Dr. Khoperskaya taught philosophy at various universities. Since 1988 she has been engaged in research work on inter-ethnic relations first at Rostov State University and later at the North Caucasian Cadre Center. Dr. Khoperskaya is a member of the All-Russian Public Movement -- Senezhsky Forum, and a member of the Federal Council of the Russian Party "Union and Concord".

Dr. Ilya Lotkin,
(Omsk) was born in 1966. In 1989 Dr. Lotkin graduated from the Department of History of Omsk State University and in January 1994 defended his thesis at the same department on "Ethnic Mobilization of Estonians and Latvians in Rural Areas of the Western Siberia".

In 1989 he graduated from the History Department of the Bashkir State University, and since 1993 has been a research fellow at the Department of the Peoples of the Ural region of the Ural Science Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Mr. Gabdrafikov is currently working on a thesis entitled "Social and Cultural Orientations of a Contemporary Village Family in Multiethnic Regions."

Latvia :

Dr. Boris Tsilevich,
(Riga) was born in 1956. Mr. Tsilevich graduated with a M.S. degree in Physics from the Department of Physics and Mathematics of Latvian State University. Since 1991 he has been the head of the Social Research Department of "Insight Ltd," and a free lance journalist for "SM-Segodnya". From 1990 to 1992 Mr. Tsilevich was a member of the Public Consulting Council in the office of the Prime-Minister of Latvia. He worked as a public adviser to the Director of the Ministry on Nationalities Affairs of Latvia. Since July 1993 Mr. Tsilevich has been a political consultant to the faction "Concord" of the Latvian parliament. In December 1993 he was elected Co-Chairman of the League of Apatrides of Latvia.

Dr. Nurbulat Masanov,
(Almaty) was born in 1956. Dr. Masanov is a graduated of Kazakh State University. In 1992 he received his Ph.D. from the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Federation. Dr. Masanov's thesis was on ethnic ecology.
