The Conference was placed under the auspices of UNESCO as it sought to demonstrate the importance of dialogue among cultures with a view to highlighting exchanges and mutual influences. Its focus was placed on emblematic places and figures, based on the scientific interpretation of both contemporary historical and archaeological data, as well as, on literary and mythological resources.

Description
The camp was attended by 170 participants (aged 12-15 years) from all Balkan countries. Its programme included educational activities (i.e. seminars, presentations, national evenings, fairs of traditional cultural products etc) aiming to encourage intercultural dialogue, while at the same time, proposing a respectful, tolerant attitude towards all cultural identities, in order to eliminate prejudice and promote communication among youth.

Description
The training seminar was carried out for 30 women professionals from 14 countries aiming at forwarding the latest information on the priorities challenging South East European societies and on the ways of action that these deep changes require. Invited speakers and lecturers from Greece, Slovenia, Bulgaria and USA participated in order to ensure the balance between local representatives, whose experience in Northern Greece offered an original view on the topics and experts involved in European programmes, able to propose a general perspective on developments. The seminar’s aim was to boost women’s contribution in the reforms undertaken by their countries in a variety of fields, including education, culture and scientific research.
