The Documentation Centre mainly holds UNESCO, ALECSO and ISESCO publications.
Structure of the Commission
The National Commission, responsible for the country’s relations with both UNESCO, ALECSO and ISESCO, is composed of the following bodies:
- The General Assembly (13 members) which meets twice a year
- The Executive Committee.
- Five Specialized Committees, Education; Environment and New Programs; Social Sciences and Cultural Heritage; Science and Technology; Projects, studies and Conventions. The meetings of these Committees are convened when required.
- The Secretariat.
The professional staff is employed at the Secretariat on a full-time basis and there are 50 general service staff members.

Interaction with UNESCO and National Commissions
Overview
1) Contacts with the Arab National Commissions in a number of fields:
- Enhancing the capacities of the Yemeni National Commission by training staff in several Arab commissions
2) Participation in workshops and Conferences held by other National Commissions
3) Cooperation with UNESCO Field Offices in Beirut, Cairo and Doha.
