Ethiopia

Established in 1956, the UNESCO Addis Ababa Cluster Office is implementing along with other UN agencies through the United Nations Development Framework.

As the general mandate of UNESCO the Addis Ababa office also carrying out the sectors of Education, Science, Culture and Communication through a vast range of initiatives including the programs of Capacity Building Development for all Africa, IPDC program on Communication Department and the HIV/AIDS Programs by joining the world wide effort to reverse the HIV/AIDS pandemic among Education Sector. In general each sector programs are brought a big change to the country by building the capacity of pilot institutes, improves the skill of young professionals, strengthening the capacity of IGAD and COMESA member states by giving particular training and adopting new technologies. The Culture Sector by itself also playing a key role under the basis of the World Heritage Convention and brought a remarkable promotion in different Ethiopia’s diverse living heritage areas.
