Strategy
To give new impetus to its work and to strengthen its role in monitoring the Global priority Africa, hence, from the phase of identifying priorities and to be taken into account by the Organization, to evaluate operations and their real impact on the field, the Africa Department is developing a strategy that intend to setting up development-oriented programs, which place particular emphasis on strategic areas such as the link between culture, education and development, technology, innovation and science education, culture and sustainable development .
- A seminar bringing together experts in the fields of competence of UNESCO and chiefs / directors of bureaux in Africa was organised in Dakar in April 2011. It focused on the development of new regional and operational strategies of the priority Africa. The outcomes of the seminar will be published on the website soon
The strategy of the Department enters its operational phase in 2011 and is based on two key levers. On the one hand, promoting a partnership / cooperation noun for development of Africa while strengthening relations with African and non-African Member States and, on the other hand, the strengthening of the intersectoral action of the Organization, including the revision / updating tools implemented in order to make programs and activities more in line with the priority needs of Africa.
