Priority Africa: Education

Africa is a priority for UNESCO and education is key to the region’s development. UNESCO's programmes  towards the African continent have been build up in such a way that they are to focus on the challenges that Africa is facing.

The Regional Bureau for Education in Africa (BREDA) in Dakar, Senegal, and 15 other field offices representing UNESCO in the sub-Saharan countries are working to ensure that the African governments and development partners maintain education among their priorities.
