Enhancing response planning capacities of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization
Over the past months capacities of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) for the mapping of needs of and services for Syrian refugees in Jordan were enhanced through the provision of networked computers and technical support in establishing a database for the management and monitoring of service delivery for Syrians refugees in Jordan. The activity was carried out between June and October 2012 and the database is now fully operational.
The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization was entrusted by the Government of Jordan with the role of coordinating efficient delivery of all relief services to Syrian refugees in Jordan by non-governmental organizations in Jordan. The database will help JHCO to better manage and monitor service delivery for Syrians. It will also help to establish a sound baseline for planning and to better organize humanitarian assistance for Syrians. The database will not only allow JHCO to have a sound information system for effective management of its day to day activities but will also serve for better response preparedness by the Government of Jordan and other relevant stakeholders including UNESCO. Such a database is crucial for evidence-based and credible articulation of needs for planning or fundraising for activities targeting Syrian refugees in Jordan.
