The Jordan Education Initiative (JEI) and the Rector of the Moscow Institute of Open Education
Amman, December 2
The Jordan Education Initiative (JEI) was one of two winners for Education who have won the 2009 UNESCO King Hamad Ben Issa Al Khalifa for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies in Education Award. UNESCO Director General Irina Bovoka said the winners were selected upon recommendations of an international jury. The JEI has trained over 3,000 teachers in ICT skills. The UNESCO director general will present $25,000 award at a ceremony on January 26 in Paris.
