Since young people under the age of 30 make up 70% of Jordan's fast-growing population, a priority group for the Communication and Information sector is the youth. Through projects that specifically target young people, UNESCO's objective is to help empower young people by reaching out to them, responding to their expectations and ideas and helping them build long-lasting skills relevant for the workforce.

UNESCO Amman Office’s crosscutting work targeting the youth includes raising awareness of the issue of HIV/AIDS and that of water scarcity in Jordan.
