World Press Freedom Day

World Press Freedom Day celebrations put the spotlight on the continued need to improve the safety and quality of the world’s media. UNESCO support  celebrations around the Pacific organised by media associations,universities and others involved in the industry.


World Press Freedom Day is celebrated on the 3rd of May annually.

The celebrations will promote the responsibilities of both governments and the media industry to create the right environment and support for local, national and regional media that deliver accurate, timely and objective information to Pacific communities.
