International Jazz Day celebration in Beirut
On the 30 of April every year UNESCO and its partners celebrate the International Jazz Day around the world. This year UNESCO Beirut and Solidere celebrated this day by bringing together 10 Lebanese Jazz bands who played for free in a central area in Beirut.
The celebration lasted from 7:00 p.m. till 1:30 a.m. on the 30th of April 2014 , this is the second year running that UNESCO cooperates with Solidere to make this event happen and to host on Uruguay Street six Lebanese bands. The crowds that showed liked the music and were so pleased to see so many jazz bands in one place.
The International Jazz Day is a worldwide event that many countries celebrate, and jazz represents cultural diversity and tolerance as it has African American origins, became famous in the Unites States and Europe and now is famous and is liked all over the world.

- -Arthur Satyan Organ Quartet
- -Jazzmine Bey Quartet
