Solving conflicts at the youth community center in Bekaa
UNESCO Beirut in cooperation with World Vision conducted a one day training workshop for Lebanese and Syrian youth at the Kfar Zabad youth community center that was opened by UNESCO last month.
The training which took place on Thursday 8 May 2014 was on understanding conflict and its resolution that focused on Lebanese and Syrian youth who because of the Syrian conflict are now sharing small villages and towns in the Bekaa area near the Syrian border.
The one day condensed training, focused on understanding conflict and its forms and causes, and how personal behavior is affected by collective group behavior and how to resolve conflict. At the end there was an assessment to evaluate the 25 trainees on their future training needs.
This activity comes under the project “Promoting Freedom of Expression in Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia and Yemen” funded by Finland.
