Training workshop on social media and campaigns for sustainable development
From the 7th till the 9th of November 2012, the UNESCO office in Beirut organized a training workshop on social media and campaigning. The workshop’s purpose was to provide young activists with the necessary tools and knowledge to strengthen their communication skills in order to campaign effectively using social media and videos.
The workshop not only enhanced the participants' knowledge and skills in new communication tools and approaches but also enhanced their awareness on the social impact of the climate challenge in the Arab region, by selecting cases related to the issue, a major contemporary driver of social transformation. The training was given in Arabic by a team of trainers from Actionaid Denmark, Global Platform Jordan, and a total of 27 people representing 17 institutions participated.
