Between 3 and 6 December the city of Brasília will host the 3rd National Conference on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The municipal, state and district preparatory conferences will discuss the theme “A gaze upon the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: new perspectives and challenges”, divided in four axes:

Axis I – Education, sport, labor and professional rehabilitation;
Axis II - Accessibility, communication, transportation and living;
Axis III – Health, prevention, rehabilitation, orthosis and prosthesis;
Axis IV – Security, access to justice, proper living standards and social protection.

The regional chapters began in November 2011 and went on until September this year.

Each municipal, state and district board presented up to 40 proposals, ten for each axis for the national chapter. The results of those activities in Brazil will be gathered during the 3rd National Conference on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
