Defourny participates in the World Forum of Vocational and Technological Education in Brasília
UNESCO Brasilia Office director attended the debate on international support for technical and vocational education
Brasília, 27/11/2009 – The UNESCO Brasilia Office director, Vincent Defourny, participated in a debate at the World Forum of Vocational and Technological Education, on November 25, at the Convention Center Ulisses Guimarães, in Brasília. The Forum brings together 15 thousand of participants, among experts from 15 different countries.
Defourny attended the Debate 6: “The actions of international organizations and associations for integration, research, and creation processes of a net support for vocational education development”. The UNESCO Brasilial Office director discussed this issue with the president of the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), Jorge Guimarães, and the Coordinator of Planning and Budget of the Ministry of Education and Director of Federal Network on Vocational and Technological Education, Vargas Marques Pereira, among other experts.
The theme of the forum, held in Brasília between November 23 and 27 , is “Education, Development and Inclusion”. The meeting is part of the celebrations to commemorate the 100 years of the creation of the first federal schools of vocational and technological education.
