This publication produced by the UNESCO Chair on the Right to Education presents a legal and interdisciplinary approach of great technical quality based on broad practical experience of experts in different areas of the Law Science. Thus, the book deepens the comprehension on the Human Right to Education in the light of the Brazilian legal system. The book may serve as a helpful tool for a better understanding the mechanisms and accountability of each actor within the educational system. This will allow action for building ways to reach effective results to the right to quality and inclusive education for all.

Education is a fundamental human right, which is central to UNESCO mission. The commitment of the international community to guarantee this right through various normative international instruments since 1948 with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. This commitment has been renewed and broadened by the United National 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDGs) adopted in 2015.
