Local development surrounding the areas of Serra da Capivara National Park is the theme of the conference that takes place in Brasilia


On 27 November, some community members that live in the areas surrounding the Serra da Capivara National Park will tell their experiences for social and economic development of the region at the conference

Productive Inclusion Around the Area of Serra da Capivara: Ordinary Populations Neighbours of the Park.

The presentation will have the participation of Larissa Barros, specialist in local development, Girleide Oliveira, entrepreneur of ceramics and hostel at Serra da Capivara, and Antonio José da Costa, representative of the Association of Rural Producers of Mucambo (Associação de Produtores Rurais do Mucambo). The discussion will be mediated by the Deputy Director of Education and Technology at the National Industry Conferation (Confederação Nacional da Indústria – CNI), Sérgio Moreira.

The conference is part of the event: Serra da Capivara: Brazilians over 50,000 Years Old, which brings to Brasília two exhibitions and a cycle of conferences about the Park.  The event is open and free to the public.

The main focus of this week’s conference is the discussion on the local development of the neighbour communities of Serra da Capivara National Park. Its objective is to show how the preservation and the activities of a natural and cultural heritage can result in benefits to the whole surrounding population.
