Manaus (Brazil) hosts meeting in preparation for the World Science Forum 2013
Registrations are open online for the 3rd Preparatory Meeting for the World Science Forum 2013. Manaus (Brazil) will be the third capital city to gather scientists, researchers, specialists of several areas and public representatives to discuss important themes connected to "Tropical diversity and Science for development”. The meeting is on 28-30 November at the National Institute for Research on the Amazon (INPA).
The Meeting at the capital of the State of Amazonas is part of a schedule of thematic meetings in seven capitals of Brazil aimed at promoting a nation-wide discussion to be taken to the international sphere. Reported proposals will be sent to the World Science Forum that will take place in Rio de Janeiro in November 2013.
The Forum will take place outside of Hungary for the first time, with the theme “Science for Global Development”. It is organized by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in partnership with the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO), International Council for Science (ICSU), American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS), European Academies Science Advisory Council (EASAC) and the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC).
