Portuguese version of the Global Media and Information Literacy Assessment Framework: Country Readiness and Competencies

©UNESCO

UNESCO’s Global Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Framework equips policy makers with a strategic framework, supported by evidence-based information, for taking concrete actions to ensure that all citizens acquire media and information competencies. The MIL Assessment Framework provides UNESCO’s Member States with assessment tools to evaluate the extent to which their country is ready and able to provide citizens with the necessary MIL competencies. UNESCO, therefore, advocates that MIL be one of the preconditions of sustainable development and that literate use of information, media and ICT tools, including the Internet, will help to ensure that everyone enjoys the full benefits of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, particularly freedom of expression and access to information, and become free and empowered citizens.
