Sinalização do Patrimônio Mundial no Brasil: orientações técnicas para aplicação (PDF only)

Published by IPHAN in cooperation with UNESCO, these technical guidelines refer to the production of signage projects for the World Heritage sites in Brazil. Its purpose is to encourage managers and local communities to adopt the visual identity of World Heritage in signalling the cultural, natural and mixed sites in the country.

A standardized visual identity is intended to enhance the recognition of the special condition of these World Heritage sites as holders of international qualifications awarded by UNESCO. These benefits are still poorly explored by Brazilians. This instrument has all the necessary information to produce projects signage of cultural and touristic activities, including guidelines for the use of the World Heritage Site emblem, models of different pieces of visual communication and more suitable materials. The expectation is that the adoption of a common visual identity to the World Heritage sites – already internationally recognized – may contribute to the promotion and protection of the Brazilian World Heritage sites.
