UNESCO and Serviço Social da Indústria (Social Service for the Industry - SESI) are hosting the Seminar on Ethics in Basic Education on 21 February. Its objective is to promote discussion and to share experience among high level specialists on Moral and Ethics Education. The seminar will gather professionals and educators to talk about the challenges of ethical matters in contemporary education.
Ambitions to create a genuinely multilingual Internet are being frustrated by technical gridlocks and the solid dominance of Latin script and the English language.

07.02.13 World Radio Day - 13 February
13 February is World Radio Day — a day to celebrate radio as a medium; to improve international cooperation between broadcasters; and to encourage major networks and community radio alike to promote access to information and freedom of expression over the airwaves.
The International Year for Water Cooperation will be launched at UNESCO Headquarters on 11 February (10 a.m to 5.45 p.m., Room IV).
The Programme for Growth Acceleration of Historical Cities (PAC Cidades Históricas) will guarantee the restoration of listed monuments and sites in 20 states of Brazil.
UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova made a visit to Mali on Saturday 2 February with French President François Hollande and the interim President of Mali Dioncounda Traoré.
On 1 February registration begins for the 42nd International Letter-Writing Competition for Young People, organized by the Universal Postal Union (UPU) and held by Correios in Brazil. This competition aims at developing the ability to write, expanding creative thinking and awakening a taste for writing in young people.
