14.10.10 Brazilian senator is member to the United Nations University Council

In December, Senator Cristovam Buarque (PDT-DF) will participate for the first time as member of the Steering Committee of the United Nations University, in Tokyo. Doctor in Economy and Professor, the parliamentarian was nominated councilor by the UNESCO General-Director, Irina Bokova, and was vested two weeks ago by the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon.

13.10.10 CNE discusses changes to the curricula for Journalism Education in Brazil

The Higher Education Chamber of the Brazilian National Education Council (CNE) held a public hearing on Friday (Oct, 08) to discuss the changes proposed to the Journalism Education curricula, submitted by an Expert Commission established by the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC).

The UNESCO Science Report-2010 will be subject of debate at the Committee on Science, Technology, Innovation, Communication and Information Technology (CCT), at the Senate. The hearing is scheduled for November 10th, the World Science Day for Peace and Development.

30.09.10 Public schools’ teachers participate in exchange program in the United States

Twenty-four school directors of the Brazilian public network visit United States to know the North American public educational system, to participate in workshops on school leadership and management and to visit schools and have meetings with directors and educators. The goal is to learn, teach and, mainly, to exchange experiences in school management and leadership.
