Studies and Evaluations in Brazil

UNESCO Brasilia Office has made studies and evaluations on various themes related to the Brazilian reality, such as: youth, education, health, violence, gender, racial discrimination, environment and governance, among others.

Specifically in the area of school violence, in November 2002, the Observatório de Violência nas Escolas-Brasil [Violence in Schools Observatory-Brazil] was created as a result of the partnership between UNESCO Brasilia Office and Universidade Católica de Brasília. Its objective is to deepen the studies on this matter, as well as to develop actions aiming to overcome violence in schools. In May 2008, this partnership also resulted in the creation of the UNESCO Chair in Youth, Education and Society. The contents published in Violence in Schools Observatory can now be found in UNESCO Chair in Youth, Education and Society website (in Portuguese).
