The UNESCO Abuja Office and Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Abeokuta organize a capacity-building workshop for female journalists’ students in the area of precision and investigative journalism. This activity is a step towards rectifying gender imbalance in the area of precision journalism. This event will seek redress of the stereotype of assigning women journalists to women-related beats while men are assigned to beats where in-depth analyses and deductions need to be made from a gamut of data.
Participants would be the final year female students of Mass Communication drawn from the two UNESCO centres of reference, UNESCO potential centre of excellence, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (the first Polytechnic to get accreditation for HND Mass Communication in Nigeria); Lagos state University, Covenant University, Ota; Babcock University, Ilishan, Caleb University, Lagos and Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye.
