7th International Conference on Theory and Practice or Electronic Governance (ICEGOV2013)
The 7th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV2013) will be held on 22-25 October 2013 in Seoul, Republic of Korea with UNESCO’s Information for All Programme (IFAP) as a partner. ICEGOV2013 main theme is "Beyond 2015 - Smart Governance, Smart Development."
Its four-day programme includes keynote lectures with three associated plenary panel discussions, more than ten thematic sessions and town hall debates, all built upon open submission and rigorous peer-review process involving the 110 members of the international Programme Committee.
This conference is the 7th edition of the ICEGOV series, coordinated by the Electronic Governance Center at the United Nations University (UNU-IIST). ICEGOV2013 is co-organized by Republic of Korea’s National Information Society Agency (NIA), with the Ministry of Security and Public Administration (MOSPA) as the patron, and the UNESCO’s Information for All Programme (IFAP) as partner.
The first two days of ICEGOV2013 are co-located with the Global e-Government Forum (GEF), hosted by MOSPA and UNDESA, and organized by NIA, and both events will share the opening and closing sessions. A representative from the UNESCO’s Communication and Information Sector will co-organize and chair a town hall debate on “Is good governance a pre-condition or a consequence of the development of knowledge societies?”
