2nd UN Inter-Agency Meeting on the Safety of Journalists and the Issue of Impunity

The 2nd Un Inter-agency meeting on the Safety of Journalists and the Issue of Impunity will discuss the implementation strategy of the UN Plan of Action on the Safety of Journalists and the Issue of Impunity in Vienna, on 22-23 November 2012.
The event will be co-hosted by the United Nations Department for Public Information (UNDPI), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The decision to organize this meeting follows the endorsement of the UN Plan of Action on The Safety of Journalists and the Issue of Impunity by the UN Chief Executives Board on 12 April 2012. The Plan was prepared during the 1st UN Inter-Agency Meeting on this issue, convened by the Director General of UNESCO at the request of the Intergovernmental Council of the International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC).
