International Conference: “Memory of the World in the Digital Age: Digitization and Preservation”
UNESCO will convene an International Conference on the “Memory of the World in the Digital Age: Digitization and Preservation” from 26 to 28 September 2012 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

UNESCO calls for nominations for Memory of the World International Register
UNESCO is inviting new nomination proposals for inscription on its Memory of the World International Register. Nominations should ideally be submitted through the National Commissions for UNESCO or the Memory of the World National Committees in the countries where they are located. Proposals should be based on the selection criteria listed in the General Guidelines to Safeguard Documentary Heritage.
The deadline for the submission of nominations is 31 March 2012 and no late submissions will be accepted.

National Archives of Australia receives UNESCO/Jikji Memory of the World Prize
The Director-General of UNESCO has designated National Archives of Australia (NAA) as the laureate of the 2011 UNESCO/Jikji Memory of the World Prize for its work, which includes publications, and innovative initiatives in the preservation of digital records.

New collections come to enrich the Memory of the World
The Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova endorsed recommendations by the International Advisory Committee of the Memory of the World Committee to inscribe 45 new documents and documentary collections from all over the world on the Memory of the World Register, which now numbers a total of 238 items.
