Code of Ethics

The code of ethics of the Latvian Association of Journalists main articles cover the role of media in society, integrity and responsibility, editorial responsibility, relations with sources, publication rules and the journalist within the society, respecting its democratic and national values .  However, this is not the sole code of ethics; there is also the Latvian Press, Radio and TV Journalist Professional Code of Ethics  and the newspaper Diena has its own ethics code . What is therefore missing is a common code of ethics; yet agreement for this from media professionals is not at hand .
