Code of Ethics
The Publicistklubben drafted the first version of a Code of Ethics back in 1900 and the first rules were published in 1923. The current Code of Ethics for the Press, Radio and Television was adopted by the Newspapers Publishers Association, the Magazine Publishers Association, the Union of Journalists and the National Press Club in 1978 and then it has undergone several changes, the last one in 2006. It states important principles related to the ethics of journalists working in the country. It also has a section about professional rules, in which the integrity of journalists has a central role. Also the Code refers to graphic elements, such as graphs, pictures and illustrations, saying they must be accurate and not misleading.
