Code of Ethics

The Swiss Press Council adopted the Declaration of the Duties and Rights of a Journalist in 1999 . The code covers the right to information and freedom of expression; duties such as to seek truth and respect professional secrecy; and rights such as the right to transparency and the right not to “the right not to act in any way nor express any opinion that is contrary to professional rules or personal conscience”.
