As a part of our United Nations Day 2013 commemoration, the UNESCO Kingston Cluster Office for the Caribbean, in collaboration with the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in Jamaica will organize a UN Interagency Round Table on Communication for Development from 22 to 23 October, 2013 at the Courtleigh Hotel in Kingston. The Round Table will bring together UN agencies and partners to discuss and debate the very broad, challenging, and crucial role and practice of communication in development in Jamaica.

This forum is being convened against the background of the recognized importance of the role of communication for development in the United Nations system, working in collaboration with government and private sector and civil society partners, in enhancing the transparency of system-wide coordination within the United Nations system, and also in recognition of the need further to facilitate Inter-Agency cooperation and to maximize the impact of the development programmes in Jamaica.
