Latin American Network of Education Portals (RELPE – Red Latinoamericana Portales Educativos) offers an open access search engine for contents within Education Portals of Latin America and the Caribbean.
The initiative to develop a collaborative network of education portals in Latin America began in 2001 within the framework of bilateral cooperation agreements made in several countries of the region. Education Portals are full members designated as such by the respective Ministry of Education in each country. It is required to have completed the protocol indexing web content and technical adjustments made to connect virtually to the Network.
In 2006, the International Development Research Centre of Canada (IDRC) approved the Draft Strategy for the Consolidation and Integration of the Latin American Network of Educational Portals (RELPE)Executive Secretariat of RELPE is currently the responsibility of Argentina.
