Finland to donate 2.5 million euros to UNESCO
Finland will contribute 2.5 million euros to UNESCO under the terms of a new cooperation agreement aimed at supporting the activities of UNESCO’s institutes and its programmes in education and communication.
The agreement will be signed at 12 noon on Friday, 23 November, by Antti Kuosmanen, Finland’s Ambassador and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, and Irina Bokova, UNESCO Director-General.
The funds are an extra-budgetary contribution from Finland and will cover 2012-2013. They will be used to support the activities of the CapEFA programme (Capacity Development for Education for All), UNESCO’s International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP), the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS), the International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC), and the Education for All Global Monitoring report.
