Video interviews with Press Councils on the impact of digital technologies

UNESCO's project Building Trust in Media in South East Europe and Turkey is aimed to strengthen press councils' capacity to process media users' complaints in case of breach of the journalistic code of ethics offline and online.

To introduce the impact of digital technologies, which transforms ways journalists produce and audiences consume news, the Press Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina developed three short video interviews with some participants of the Project. In those videos, representatives of media self-regulatory bodies from South East Europe and Turkey outline how the online world is changing their work and present the biggest challenges they have to face.

Does your code of ethics define who is a journalist or what journalism is?

What are the most frequent complaints when it comes to online media?

What are the biggest challenges you are currently facing especially when it comes to online media?

The UNESCO Project « Building Trust in Media in South East Europe and Turkey » is funded by the European Commission and UNESCO. It aims to support self-regulation mechanisms in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Turkey and Kosovo (under UNSCR 1244).
