In order to promote and inform the general public on the UNESCO-Sharjah Prize for Arab Culture and the procedures to follow to submit candidatures, UNESCO in cooperation with the Authorities of Sharjah will hold two meetings, one in an Arab State and one in a non-Arab State, before the next edition of the Prize.
During the award ceremony in April 2013, the Director-General of the Department of Culture and Information of Sharjah confirmed that the meetings will take place before the end of the year, one in Rabat (Morocco) and the other in London (United Kingdom).
In Rabat, the meeting will be held on 24 and 25 October 2013. National and international experts will discuss different aspects of the prize. The Moroccan Ministry of Culture and the National Commission will also participate as well as NGOs, artists, writers and organizations dealing with intercultural dialogue.
More information will be available soon.
