UNESCO-Chair in Arts and Culture in Education at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany)
The UNESCO-Chair in Arts and Culture in Education at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany) was established in 2010.
To achieve the basic goals of UNESCO (mutual respect, peaceful exchange, cultural diversity, sustainable development) the main focus for the work of the chair is to explore the conditions how people are able to become stable, open-minded, reflective, peaceful, and cultured individuals and members of society through arts education. A productive link to cultural diversity and cultural heritage is central to this kind of arts education.
The Chair’s activities concern two main issues: the implementation of UNESCO related topics in research and teaching at the University and the international cooperation of professors and researchers for comparative research in arts education (INRAE).
