UNESCO City of Design

On 20th July 2010, Seoul was designated UNESCO City of Design.

Seoul is a city with over 2,000 years of history and has been the capital of Republic of Korea for more than 600 years. The city is a good example of design-driven creative city with its vision to become an eco-cultural city based on advanced IT infrastructures.

With the strong support of the Government dedicated to fostering the design industry, the city has established design-oriented urban policies, promoted public urban design standards and implemented design education practices
