Strengthening the System of Governance for Culture in Developing Countries

This UNESCO expert facility project is funded by the European Union and contributes to the implementation of the 2005 Convention. It aims to strengthen the system of governance for culture in developing countries and reinforce the role of culture as a vector for sustainable development and poverty reduction.
The project involves technical assistance missions undertaken by top specialists in the field of cultural policies chosen from a pre-selected pool of experts.
Latest news
Following the technical assistance missions' promising results, the project has been extended until 30 November 2013, so that follow-up activities can be carried out. These activities, based on continued cooperation between the experts and the beneficiaries, will either be carried out remotely or in the field.
