Contributions to the IFCD

The IFCD is an important mechanism that enables the Convention to make a real impact on the ground. Currently 61 projects in 40 developing countries have been or are being implemented in the field, and none of this would be possible without the valuable voluntary contributions of the following donor States and individuals, who have demonstrated their commitment to fostering a new form of international cooperation based on equal partnership, mutual respect and support.

To ensure that quality programmes/projects/activities can continue to be funded, the Conference of Parties adopted Guidelines on the use of the resources of the Fund, which encourages Parties to the Convention to make annual contributions to the Fund equal to at least one per cent of their country’s contribution to UNESCO’s budget.
