Presentation of the Policies for Creativity guide at the Argentine Cultural Industries Market


In the framework of the Argentine Cultural Industries Market (MICA), the first platform to bring Argentina’s creative sector professionals together, the Policies for Creativity guide was presented on the 2nd of June 2011.


The guide is aimed at those responsible for creating and implementing sectoral policies for the cultural and creative industries in Latin America. It is a practical and easy to use tool that provides a flexible framework that can be adapted to national and local contexts: it details step-by-step processes necessary to design and implement public policies.

Policies for Creativity was presented by Héctor Schargorodsky, director of the cultural observatory at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Buenos Aires and co-author of the guide, and Jorge Grandi, UNESCO’s representative for Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. 

Furthermore, Fréderic Vacheron, program specialist at UNESCO’s culture sector gave a presentation on UNESCO’s 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural expressions.
