Online solutions revitalize book sector


Promoting Tunisian books in local and international markets is high on the Ministry of Culture’s agenda. This policy responds to Tunisia’s pioneering approach since 2000 to making cultural industries work for the country’s development.

In partnership with the Tunisian Publishers Union, the Ministry launched a website where some 1,500 Tunisian books are featured and promoted. Thanks to the project, the necessary laws and procedures have also been put in place to stop copyright violations and piracy.

Officially presented on 8 November 2012, the innovative website is promoting Tunisian books through the Internet, workshops and will be showcased during Tunisia’s yearly book fair.
