Official Launch of the UNESCO Diversity Kit for Youth in Basque and Catalan
UNESCO Etxea and the UNESCO Chair in Cultural Policies and Cooperation at University of Girona, Spain officially launched the UNESCO Diversity Kit for Youth in Basque and Catalan, an educational and innovative game for teenagers (12-16 years old), on 20 and 26 February 2014.
Developed by UNESCO and a team of education experts and graphic designers, this online game allows teenagers to take on an individual path of discovery, exploring the main themes of the UNESCO 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, including creativity, diversity and cultural expressions in an easily understandable and entertaining way.
Further to the launch of these two new language versions of the UNESCO Diversity Kit for Youth, a number of training of trainer’s workshops were organized for over 50 teachers and educators in Vitoria, Getxo and Girona (Spain). These training activities, which were supported by the Education Departments of the Basque Country and Catalonia, will be followed by the implementation of the Kit throughout the Basque and Catalan education network.
