In practice: Resilient societies
- In the face of the recent disaster in Haiti, culture gave meaning and value to identity and the continuity of human societies. It brought communities together and has been made an important part of the reconstruction strategies, for example theatre performances and creative workshops for children brought much needed enjoyment to the displaced people. Educational and artistic activities for youth in Pétionville were organized at the DREAM Centre (Dance, Read, Art, Express and Music) which offers opportunities to learn new skills and express inspiration and creativity, the best tools to help them imagine their futures.
