Terms of Use of the Services and Data of UNESCO’s Atlas of the World’s Languages in Danger

Use of the information provided in UNESCO’s Atlas of the World’s Languages in Danger (henceforth, Atlas) and its services are subject to the following Terms of Use. These Terms of Use are updated and displayed in the UNESCO website at http://www.unesco.org/culture/languages-atlas/en/atlasmap.html.  By accessing or using this information you agree to be bound by these Terms as set forth.

I. Permissions, privacy and copyright

However, this must not infringe UNESCO’s intellectual property rights in particular relating to its name, logo, copyright or author’s rights. h.      Alternative name(s), when available

i.        Language name in the original language/script, when available

II. 2. In addition to the permissions and copyright-related provisions outlined in Section I above, the following terms must be respected:

-         you may not modify the data posted on this site;

-         you are invited to regularly check our website for updates of the data;

-         if you wish to obtain the extended dataset, please send a written request to atlas(at)unesco.org, specifying the purpose and conditions of the use that you will make of it;

-         if requested, you will graciously provide to UNESCO the materials (electronic, print, audio-visual and multimedia) that you will have developed on the basis of the Atlas dataset;

-         you are not authorized to redistribute the data without UNESCO’s written consent (requests to be sent to atlas(at)unesco.org)
