Co-funded from the Federal Office for Culture of the Swiss Confederation, the key objective is the development of risk preparedness and security management strategies for Egypt’s museums as a tool for the efficient protection of cultural heritage in Egypt and prevention of looting, theft and illicit traffic of cultural objects in the event of man-made disaster or conflict.

Project activities include training of museum staff, customs and police officers and other stakeholders, the development of museum emergency plans as well as networking opportunities for participants to share and disseminate information.
