International conference ‘’Conservation and restoration in underwater archaeology: experiences, methods and new discoveries’’, ICUA Zadar, 24th to 26th October 2019

The ICUA Zadar has announced the call for papers for the international conference ‘’Conservation and restoration in underwater archaeology: experiences, methods and new discoveries’’ organized in partnership with the University of Zadar. The event will be held in Zadar, Croatia, from 24th to 26th October 2019 at the former St. Nicholas Church within ICUA and the University of Zadar premises.

The purpose of the conference is to bring together scientists and experts dealing with conservation and restoration of underwater archaeological finds, and other interested stakeholders from Croatia and abroad, exchange of knowledge, experiences, and examples of good practice.

Three major themes have been chosen – In situ preservation of underwater archaeological materials and sites, relevant case studies in the conservation of underwater archaeological finds and Application of new materials and technologies for conservation practice.

The ICUA Zadar has extended the paper and poster submission deadline to 21st of June 2019 for the international conference ‘’Conservation and restoration in underwater archaeology: experiences, methods and new discoveries’’ – CRUA 2019.

All interested CRUA 2019 conference participants are invited to submit abstracts for presentation or for poster session based on their professional experiences and research projects in the field of conservation and restoration of underwater archaeology.
