As a Regional Office for Education in Africa, the Education is UNESCO Dakar's biggest Sector. It is composed of three sections:

• Section for Basic to Higher Education.
• Section for Planning and Development of Education Systems (which includes the Pôle de Dakar and the regional coordination of UNESCO Institute for Statistics).
• Section of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development, of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development
