Jean O'Sullivan

Jean joined UNESCO in 1997 as an editorial consultant, producing communication materials for the Education Sector and EFA Forum (including the press kit of the World Education Forum in Dakar, April 2000). She then joined UNESCO’s Associated Schools (2002 -2006) as Information and Communication Officer and co-ordinator of the Transatlantic Slave Trade Education Project. She was a publishing executive at Editions Nathan for ten years, and prior to that taught in Ireland, the U.S. and France.

Responsibilities

Jean serves as the English web editor for the Education Sector portal, writing and finalizing news items, managing translations, overseeing the content of thematic websites and validating online and print materials. She prepares a range of other communications products and manages the electronic news bulletin EDUInfo

Qualifications

Diploma in design; university degree in English and French; postgraduate studies in theory and philosophy of education; professional courses on aspects of journalism
