Laboratory for Pilot Testing and Research

ASPnet schools serve as international laboratories for developing, experimenting and validating innovative educational material developed by UNESCO or its partner organizations.

Tested materials can then be better adapted to the requirements of schools in different regions of the world. They are often disseminated worldwide and thus contribute to ASPnet’s multiplier effect.

Materials already tested include those on themes such as Education for Human Rights, HIV and AIDS prevention, desertification or world hunger.

ASPnet schools also participate in research on innovative educational methods or topics of concern to UNESCO.

World Hunger “Feeding Minds, Fighting Hunger"

The Feeding Minds, Fighting Hunger lessons were developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) as a starting point for teachers to introduce the topic of world hunger to their students. Three lesson plans are proposed for elementary, lower secondary and upper secondary education. On World Food Day, 16 October - and throughout the year - students all over the world can use these lessons to gain a better understanding of hunger and malnutrition.
